I'll let you know how it goes.
The point of the mist is to determine if the insulation on the wires is bad. If you are getting a show and you just replaced the wires something is wrong. Double check the wire routing. Check your engine ground and the distributor ground. Use a good dielectric grease on the wire contacts, plugs, and rotor contacts. Make sure all connections are clean and tight. And make sure you are using just a light mist, don't soak it. Finally make sure the wires are good. Maybe they came bad in the box. Bend them around your finger and look for cracks in the insulation. Make sure the ends are on tight and the boots seal well.

Although this is an old thread, the following info might help somebody out there.

If you have a misfire do this:

1) Get a set of quality wires
2) Get a set of OEM plugs. gap them .002 under spec
3) Get a good quality dist cap & rotor, I recommend Gold
4) Get a set of 180 deg and a set of 90 deg boots with metal connections

Note: Rather than use all 45 deg boots on the cap, you can run 45 deg & 180 deg throughout the cap so that you create as much distance between each terminal as possible.

Here is the real trick:

5) Get yourself a roll of 3/8 fuel line. Cut 8 lengths of it to cover each wire.
6) Get an exacto knife and cut the length of each fule line down the spline of the tube.
7) Apply each fuel line (to cover all wires) to appropriate wire to cover complete length.

Note: The fuel line covering is Key... as the rubber compound has an anti static electricity agant in it for fuel management safety.

The Result: No More Misfire

Hope this helps somebody out there.
