Without getting into a long drawn out 'debate' over the pros and cons....what plug do I go with in a 95 5.8 engine? FWD model...I simply want to avoid ones that are known to be problematic down the road. Yes, I know we all have opinions on this....I've changed wires, cap, & rotor now it's time to get fresh plugs into this daily driver of mine.

Just a good top name brand, 5.8's aren't that sensitive. NGK,AC delco, Motorcraft, I've even used Champion without issues.

I would go with the recommended Ford Motorcraft. You can also get along with Auto Lite. Personally I wouldn't stray from those two.

+1 - I personally use plain Autolite.

I agree. They're pre-gapped but check anyway just to be sure.

There's a really good thread floating around here somewhere that covers plugs in great detail. In short, however, it explains why you should steer clear of all the high-tech newer style plugs, like the iridium. The ignition system in these trucks weren't made for them. The resistance is different and can cause other ignition parts to wear out quicker. I just put autolites in my truck. Just replace them on schedule and you'll be good to go!

I run MC or Autolite and run single platinum as they go more miles between replacement vs the copper.

In all my trucks I run autolites. I am even running them in my chevys.

Just don't run a Champion. Champion is a lawn mower plug. LOL
