Default solid axle swap

ive got a 1996 f150 lifted 9 inches and ive got a straight axle out of a 79 f150 and was wondering how hard it would be to swap it over and if my lift would work on the new axle any ideas?

Check out www.fullsizebronco.com there is a full SAS section there, with every question in the thought answered. I have been reading there for awhile to do my upcoming SAS. Seems to be few hundred recipies for this swap. Good Luck.

the swap is pretty simple, get a 78-79 axle out of a half ton with the radius arms and the radius arms to frame bracket, the only thing you have to weld or you could bolt it would be the trackbar/panhard bar.

and you dont want to use the coils from the ttb axle, they are very very stiff compared to the soild axle coils.

and you could do it in 6 hours or less- with proper planing and the right tools,

i took a complete 4x4 truck and stripped it down to an empty frame sitting on the axles in about 4 hours. just takes planing and the tools.
