Default Solenoid Problems???

A couple weeks ago I replaced my starter and solenoid in my truck.. it worked fine untill this morning.. When i got in it this morning i tried to turn it over but all i heard was a click then a loud GRRRRRRRRR noise.. the noise is coming from the solenoid.. but i just replaced it so Im not really sure if it could be bad.. also the postive battery terminal smokes a little when i hit the ignition.. so i thought maybe it was a bad battery so i tried jump starting it with my grandpas truck but it still does the same thing..

I had to borrow my grandpas truck to do what i had to do taday now.. but i really want to figure my truck out and get it to start again.. should I replace the solenoid again or could it be a bad connection somewhere.. Oh and all my lights radio and everything else works by the way

If your battery terminal is smoking, it's definitely not just the battery. Maybe its a loose ground? Sounds like you have a short somewhere. Hunting for an electrical problem sucks though

Go after the bad connection (smoke), suggest cleaning all terminals with wire brush. And I don't mean the top, I mean inside where the electrical contact is made. Recharge battery and let us know.

Eh i fixed it.. but i dont really know how.. lmao

I looked for loose connections shorts all that couldnt find any thing.. so i got pissed and said to hell with it.. im either going to make this damn thing work or blow it up.. so I pushed turned the ignition it my start button and just held it down.. it made the buzzing grrrring noise for about 5-10 seconds then it made a loud pop and the starter engaged.. it started right up... i left it on for about 10 minutes to recharge the battery ( i had to jump it off with grandpas truck) after 10 minutes i cut it off.. waited about 5 minutes went back out there turned the key on pushed the button and it started perfect. no buzzing grrring clicking poping anything...

so needles to say im kinda confused right now... lol but atleast my truck starts again
