Default Softer ride?

I have an 89 f150 and have recently just noticed the rear-end rides REALLY REALLY rough compared to same trucks with same drop. Like bounces from bumps. It acts as if the springs are too stiff. I have lowered the truck 4" in the front and 6" in the rear and use some rear leafs from a junkyard that seemed to be decent. Would I be able to get a certain year and or series of another similar f-series that would possibly have softer leaf springs? I have also already replaced shocks twice. Used some toxic drop shocks to belltechs nitro drop shock both rode the same. So it can only be the rear leafs were maybe for a 4x4 1 ton I would think.

Any info would be great. I was advised to maybe look for similar trucks with smaller GVW rates, would that matter?

Any time you shorten your wheel travel, you are going to make the ride stiffer to keep it from hitting the stops (bottoming out)...

You might try bagging it.

I'll bet you put those gnarly low profile tires on it as well.

But hey, don't feel bad. Lot's of people discover the problem with dropped suspensions after they've dropped them.

In 1978 I bought a 65 VW Bug with a bad engine for $50. My buddy Jake and I put larger jugs on her and my buddy Randy Panted her 2 tone. Orange on top and canary yellow on a line from the door handles down. It ran great and got allot of attention. Then one drunk Saturday Afternoon Jake and I cut the coils (That's how you dropped stuff in 1978) and took 3 inches out of her. The car was useless above 35MPH.......But it sure looked good!
