Hello my 96 f150 xlt is making some squealing noises and I have tracked it to the smog pump pulley. I was wondering what is the process of taking it off? Or if there even is one? If not can I just take it off and bypass it with a shorter belt?

 

You could simply remove the pulley and run a shorter belt or delete the smog completely. If you need help with the delete I put a mini "how-to" in a thread somewhere

I would give you the part # for the belt I used but my 90 has a different serpentine belt setup than your 96 I believe
