Default Smog pump bypass

Was wondering if someone out there could give me some advice. So I bypassed my smog pump by putting a shorter belt on it this is only temporary till my paycheck comes in next week, and my question is this. Now that I bypassed it do I need to disconnect the cans the fan and the other emissions that are connected to the smog pump? This is on a 87 f150 w/4.9 straight 6

Disabling the emissions is illegal & counterproductive. The truck will run better longer for less money if it's maintained - not modified. Click this & read the caption:

The '95 4.9L in my truck still has all the emissions systems working, and it has nearly a million miles without a rebuild.

Thank you Steve 83 . Just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to do any damage. Although Where i live in Colorado , they got rid of emissions tests. The county I live in doesn't require them ,and I think it's state wide.

i said you would be fine till payday... just was wondering why you would waste money on a belt if you couldn’t afford to replace the pump till payday.
