Replacing vapor cannister didn't solve the gas smell, so I guess I'll replace the purge valve

Might want to look at the tanks and check the vent valve on top. If the little ball is not there when you fill up it could flood the vent line with raw gas and fill the vapor canister.

And it is the same valve on the rear thank also (next page).

Ghostrider.

do I have to take the bed off to get to the ball vent on top of the tanks.. Rechecked the hose from the vapor canister to the throutle body, it has a y fitting with two hoses going into the throtle body, no purge valve..checked the diagram on top of the air cleaner box and it doesn't show a purge valve either..

The ball vent is on top of the tank, so, remove bed or lower the tank are to only to options I know of.
