lol oh I see! I skimmed through a previous post of yours saying you were almost ready to pull the engine and then saw that pic and thought it was a tear down pic of your truck!

I did snap a couple of pics. By now the intake manifold is off and the fuel rail is next!

Do you think it would be a good thing to have an oil cooler? I don't really tow, and I am not sure how I would plumb it.

Any suggestions? I just want this engine to last a long time!

Oil coolers sandwich in between the oil filter and filter pad... most are Thermatic... meaning only work when warm and transfer no oil to the cooler in cold weather.

if you constant run the truck very hard where the is a lot of heat I'd say yes but under normal driving it wouldnt be necessary at all.

Even on my stuff I;ve never installed one... I just went with a bigger pan to hold a few more quarts of oil and that always kept temps down.

Default Progress!!

Got the IM and the VCs off. Next gotta take off the rest of the accessories, and yank that bugger out!

I am taking the injectors to get serviced and cleaned. I am also gonna buy a new torque converter. Hopefully this will solve the jittery ride issues this truck has.

Any idea if that RX7's oil cooler has the Thematic device to keep the oil from getting too cold?

Default I got more parts!

Today I picked up the new Torque Converter. I'm thinking about painting on go-fast flames or something useless like that!

So we got the engine out of the truck. Now we are scratching our heads trying to figure out how to separate the torque converter from the flywheel. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Default There's your problem!

Check out the leakage from the head gasket. At least it is obvious this engine had a blown head gasket, and I didn't do all this work on a whim!
