Default Severe coolant leak

I'm having a bad coolant leak high in the engine compartment ('95 with a 302) near the glove compartment. I haven't had time to look more closely at where it is yet.
Anyone have any ideas what my problem might be?

probably the heater core if its close to the glove compartment.... you may get lucky and it just be a busted hose though....

Without a doubt heater core...Had the same thing, except mine even shot through the ducts of the defroster. Take out the glove box, behind that is the a cover of about 7 screws, then the heater core is behind that. It can be removed from the cab of the truck after a disconnection of the hoses under the hood. The removal of the hoses was a pain but after that it's easy. Not really a tough job at all!

i just re-read your first post.... you said "high in the engine compartment".... is it leaking in the engine compartment? or is the coolant leaking inside of the cab?

The leak is in the engine compartment, the smell is in the cab. Do you think it's more the hoses than the heater core?

I would check the heater hoses and the heater core... it has to be one of the two.... sorry for the delayed response
