Default Service front diff

Needing to service the front diff soon but who ever designed it without a way of draining it should get a pop to the back of the head. I noticed a spot in the bottom of the diff is a casting spot that looks like it could be drilled and tapped for a drain plug? Any thoughts?

Yeah, I thought I brought my 3/8" npt tap home from work, but didn't I was doing that very plug this week end. I have to do axles, so out it comes.
