Default separating torque converter from flywheel

newbie at this

beginning 302 swap and have unbolted nuts off TQ and was wondering if the TQ should be pushed back (off the flywheel bolts) before i pull motor??? tnx

When you unbolt the bell housing and everything just support the bell housing. I use a floor jack and then pull the motor foreword and then up then you should be fine

Yes, to keep the T/C engaged with the AT primary shaft and also prevent loss of transmission fluid.

Tnx guys!!! I found out i just have to pull engine foward then up and out...so far my first engine swap has been solid!!! Appreciate feedback

Pictures or it just ain't true. Pull the radiator out if you haven't already done so, more room and no way to damage it if it's out of the way.
