Default A second neutral

ok so i got a 94 f150 4x4 and i am new to the 4x4 game.
i can shift it to 4hi neutral and 4low but what i want to know is, whats the second neutral for? if the transmission has neutral why is there a neutral in the transfer case? seems a little odd to me. sorry but where 4x4's are concerned i am truly a newb.

its cheap to fix stupid, broken parts due to stupid not so much

it is a neutral in the transfer case itself, not the transmission. it is there because 4hi and 4low are a change in gearing, much like how a transmission will switch into neutral to change gears.

Neutral on the transfer case exists primarily so the truck can be flat towed.
