scrap yard find
so i was at my local scrap yard yesterday getting rid of some metal shelves that i got form my work. while there i spotted a 80's f150 with a lund sun visor. so on my way out i asked about it. i was told to come back today as they were getting ready to close when i was there yesterday. well when i got there today the boss just let me go back and snag it.
just goes to show it is always worth it to ask.

Those visors look great. When I bought my '95 it had one on it. It was somewhat loose and the vibration caused large cracks in the roof. I had probably a 1-1/2" chunk that came out at each screw hole. I had a body shop weld them up and fill them. Then the visor went on craigslist.
the roof cracked or the visor cracked? i was reading some threads where people were having problems with loose screws or they didnt have the lower middle two in and that would cause the vibration. a good marine grade sealant or epoxy seams to be the cure.
anyone else have any experience with these visors?

i had on on my first truck it did the same thing, I welded up the roof, then re-drilled the roof, then I used lock nuts, with red locktite, then epoxy sealed over the whole nut and bolt, never had a problem again, do it right the first time never have problems again.
when i pulled this one it only had self tapping screws holding it on. when yours failed. what was holding it on screws or bolts?
ford trucknut did you drill through both layers of the roof to install the nuts and bolts? and if so then how was your headliner affected?
