Angry Running into some trouble

Hey guys I was just wondering if anyone has installed a deck in there 1987-1991 F150 by themselves..I'm in the process of doing it right now but the only wiring diagram I found gave me the wrong colour wires and the only thing I have been have to sort out is the speakers. The wires I have no idea what they are are as following, Green/Yellow Stripe, Yellow/Black Stripe, Light or teal blue with red stripe(Has power running too it. Orange and Black(also has power) and one last pure red wire...If anyone can give me some help with this it would be very greatly appreiated

Go to the local parts store, and find an adapter harness for your Ford, it plugs directly into the orig truck harness and it has instructions and wire codes to wire to stereo.

Yeah I wish it had a harness but thans for the input anyhow. The old guy who had it before me let his son **** around with the truck for a few months and my guess is that he had put a deck into the truck then just ripped it out when we got the truck. All the wires were taped together not even soldered(I can't remember if thats right) or crimped just taped..

Ew I hate people who rig stuff. If you have or know of a stock radio from that era, it might have the wiring on it, along with the colors. Or if you have a friend with a new deck, maybe you could ask him\her to pull the radio and check the colors. I wish I could help but I just got rid a couple of non working ones that had the wiring on them.

I'm at work now, but this afternoon I'll pull mine out and write it all down for you. Mine is aftermarket and I hooked it up from a wiring chart online but I remember some of the wires were wrong on the chart so I had to figure it out myself, so having the right one on here will be nice.

Ok so I found a good website and then pulled my stereo back out and looked at it to verify it was right. This is the best site I could find it gives a full breakdown as well as a diagram. Hope this helps, good luck.

When I bought my truck someone had done the same thing (rigging it up with tape). I couldn't figure out why I only had one speaker that actually worked. I ended up buying all new speakers, got them hooked up and still didn't hear anything. Come to find out that everything was wired wrong. I decided to put a better head unit in so with a little time and patience I got it all hooked up.
