running erotic
Put on plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Since then, the truck hasnt been right. The check engine light was coming on every so often when sitting still or driving. Then all of a sudden it ran smooth for three weeks. Then one night the check engine light comes on and the next morning it wont start. Been like that for a week and today it started. Sitting there in park, the check engine light comes on and it idles high and low sporadically. Please help. when the check engine light comes on, the truck for those few second acts like it wants to cut off.

I sure hope you mean "running erratic" if not then you may want to check the rear end
Anyway, you may need to check that you installed the plug wires correctly, you may have one that is not seated all the way or is not in continuity.

To start with. To prevent cross-fire.

Check for Vac leaks, look for poor connections (Vac & electrical) & test IAC

Then there's Error code scans!

Note the plug wire routing path. Especially the #7. That's important. Not the just the fact that the right plug is connected.
