Default Roller cam.....

What was first year ford started using roller cam? Even if it is a ballpark answer. My reasoning is that I have an 85 F150 302 FI and it has a roller cam with roller lifters. Now when I look for parts I find nothing but flat tappet lifters. Maybe this was converted?

Does it seem strange to you that I got a roller cam? Also, does this affect which crank I need to be looking at considering this could be a different year motor or from a mustang?? I got the crank kit for the 1985 f150 that they advance has.....

In the trucks, it was 1992 when they started using rollers. It looks like someone changed something over in your engine at some point. My 1990 has a flat tappet camshaft.
