Found out why my truck stalls, it seems to be loading up with fuel and stalling the motor, when I start it there is a cloud of black smoke, it is intermittent, it runs great then it just stalls, it starts right up, could it be a fuel pressure reg problem? Or should I start taking harnesses apart and check the wiring?

Fuel pressure reg is an easy test. I would test that first before tearing into the harness. Just start your truck and leave it until the engine is warmed up. With the engine running still pull the red hose off the top of the regulator. Wait for about 5 mins and see if gas comes out of the top of the regulator. If it does, that is your problem

Thanks this has been driving me nuts for months. I was hoping not because the press reg is a pain to do being the geniuses at Ford put the screws on the bottom, and it is the 3 hole regulator.

Ha yeah its a ton of fun to take out. I did mine on my 300 6, it was the 2 screw one but still it is a bit difficult with big hands to reach around the intake and take the screws off.
