Default Resetting odometer restored pickup

Hello ladies and gentlemen,
I have a 1993 F150 flareside I have completely restored this pickup, I mean new engine, new transmission, new rear deferential, new interior etc.
I am wanting to reset the odometer back to zero that way I can know how many miles that are on the new drivetrain.

I know it is not illegal to reset the odometer if I do not plan to deceive anyone, when I go to sell the vehicle as long as I specify the mileage is unknown then it is legal for me to sell it with a reset odometer.

does anyone know to reset the odometer.

Just write down the mileage it has on it now and place the info in the glovebox. I know what you want to do CAN be done, I just don't understand why someone would want to.

Spinning an electronic odometer with a screwdriver sounds interesting.

OP, if it matters that much, you can probably hit up an odometer repair outfit and see if they’ll sell you a unit with a remanded PSOM or clear yours for you.

There are mail-in services that claim to be able to reset a digital odometer, but I don't trust them. You can DIY using a stereo to produce an electronic signal that the PSOM interprets the same way as it does the one from the ABS sensor, but depending on how many miles the odo shows now, it could take weeks for it to count its way to 999,999mi. Read this caption, and the others in this album:

The easiest & best solution is to simply write the current odo reading in paint-pen on the component that was replaced/rebuilt/reman. Then you'll know, and so will anyone you sell it to, and you won't have to sign the "incorrect odo" statement.

Write the information in your maintenance log. Reset the odometer and state unknown mileage on the title(wink wink) just lowered the value of the truck. I would never buy a vehicle with a title stating the mileage isn't actual and l wouldn't buy into the new drivetrain claim either.

Very easy, write down the date and mileage on them so you don't have to do something deceptive.
