Default Replacing Oil Pan?

So, my '87 F150 5.0 has an oil pan that has seen better days! It is so badly rusted, that it has silicone smeared all over it & it still leaks like a sieve! It looks like the motor will have to be hoisted up in order to remove the pan. Is there any "easy" way around this? Has anybody here replaced their pan? Any advice will be appreciated!
Thanks!

No easy way. Use the search threads feature many have posted trials and grief with this issue.

i recently did it and it is possible by jacking the entire front end up letting the suspension down then removing the motor mounts, then jack up the engine as far as it can go. then you can slide the old pan out and put the new one in.

you will need 2 jack stands a 2x4 to reach the harmonic balanceer to jack the engine up even higher with a bottle jack or floor jack some sockets and a gasket scraper.

It isn't that traumatic to pull it off trust me! I did mine with ramps and 2 jacks and it was no big deal. while i was there I changed the motor mounts and redid the starter connections...

lolol

I have a 4.9....

chasing down a stupid error code is traumatic...unbolting a pan and some mounts was brainless in comparison imho. I got it out and tossed in a melling racing oil pump for good measure...hehe. no big deal. i'll take that over diagnosing electrical issues on a 21 year old vehicle any day of the week!

Well i had trouble slipping it out from under the engine I didn't use a engine lift just jack stands and a few jacks. one did brake half way thru so that was bad my engine was off about 2 inches so that slowed it down for me also the transmission was in the way. i have a 5 speed with overdrive. and 4 wheel drive.
I do have to call BS on using ramps there is no way you can slide the pan out with just car ramps the front end does not give the clearance.

2 wd 4.9 5 speed used ramps, jacked up the engine till i couldn't lift it anymore and then pulled the pan.The motor mounts were totally shot so it was effortless. Oh, yeah i just found pics of it....i had the trans off too...made it easier I guess. All in all it was only a day's work with the clutch system/rear main seal. This was the Sandford and Son in the driveway changeout. It's just bolts and beer!
For comparison purposes I've spent up to two weeks trying to sort out a short in the harness

ok you can with 2 wheel drive sorry I was thinking of the 4 wheel drive.
and having the transmission off helps tons I wish i could have removed my transmission when i did that i had to jack it up for the extra mm of clearance

I found it easier to not use any ramps, jacks or stands. I just removed the whole body. lifted the enging with a chain hoise, that gave me all the room I needed.
