Default Replacement Shock recommendations?

All, I'm new to this forum. I recently bought an 89 F150, regular cab, 4x4, 8 ft bed with 136000 miles. Spent a ton on new fuel system components (front tank, fuel pumps, oxygen sensor, fuel tank selector switch, and lots more).

Yesterday I got 1 cu. yard of top soil. The truck squatted dramatically and driving it home was scary. The slightest steering input would try to send the truck into a serious wobble that was hard to control. I'm going to try replacing the shocks myself. I have decent DIY skills and good tools.

I've seen the thread about Monroe shocks. Seen good reviews of Bilsteins. I'm trying to save a few bucks, any decent shocks in the middle of the price range. Thanks.
