Default Rebuild options

Hey everyone im new here. I have a 89 f150 4x4 with a 302 and aod. it has a 4" lift with 35x12.50.
so i bought the truck with a weak oil pump. i hooked up a mechanical gauge and it would dip down to 2-5 lbs, im running thicker oil (15-40) for the time being so i can run to the hardware store. which it keeps it at 10lbs at idle.
I plan on putting a new motor and im stuck between 393 or 408 stoker or even possibly a 460 with mild mods. Its not my first stroker. i just sold my 88 fox body with a 347 so its not all new to me. the trucks primary use is for hauling stuff around town and going over a few passes to where i go hunting so torque is a more of a priority then high hp. with that said it spends more time on short drives through town. I plan on "after much debate" going with 456 over 410 for the gears and hope to have a gearvendor within a year or so " wife allowing haha" Let me know what you guys think. anyone already runing a 393 or 408? pros and cons? Im not partial to the 460 mainly because i dont really want to swap the whole drivetrain. but open to hear what ppl have to say. I know this sbf vs 460 has been beat with a dead horse. I dont really care for spinning my tires i have a toy for that. and honestly dont see myself going past 4500rpm maybe if the hill calls for it . thats why ive leaned toward a larger stroke.but not going to 427 because im under the impression it will be alittle less reliable. given the way its driven

A slightly built 351 will do the job without breaking the bank on mods. It drops right in, change the y-pipe and a few other little things.

408 or nothing in my book. Enough cubes for raw torque and enough hp to drive at higher speeds without the engine being put under any strain.

If I ever get a chance to build a 408 for a truck, I'd do a custom cam, Trick Flow 205cc heads and a Trick Flow box intake or Edelbrock truck intake. Straight raw power. If I find myself with another truck, that's more than likely what I'm going to do.

For heads I was thinking of 170 or 190cc. At most to keep the powerband a little lower. But then again I'm looking for hauling and hill climbing
