Rear Main
Hey guys, curious to know either:
A: How difficult is to replace the rear main on my truck, with an automatic transmission...
or
B: How much do you think it wil lrun to have a shop fix it?
Thanks.

Sorry for the late post. I'll try to be brief. Use a remote starter to rotate the engine to remove the four nuts securing the torque converter to flywheel, as you do this keep an eye open for the drain plug of the torque converter. Its right next to one of the nuts. If this is the last nut removed, great, otherwise keep rotating the crank until the plug is again at the bottom. Now, grab one of the converter studs and wiggle it. Remember how this feels. You want this same looseness upon reassembly. The torque converter nuts are the first removed and the last installed. The movement or wiggle of the converter is an absolute must. It ensures the converter is still fully engaged in the front pump or damage will happen. The flywheel only lines up one way to the crankshaft. Two bolts are spaced different than the other four. Go for it!
