Default rear end curious...

Just curious to know what the gears are in my 94 f150 XLT 5.0 5spd 4x4. It seems to be geared pretty low, 60mph @ 2000 rpms in 5th

Look on your drivers side door on the seal and u will see the id sticker with vin. and etc. You will see a code on there.
Here's a link you can look it up on once you get it

Mine are limited slip 3.55's the code is b9

good luck

Probably 3.55's but as posted, the axle code on the door sticker will verify. I was shocked to find 2.73's under my 4.9.

i was surprised to find such a high gear in mine. considering what ive seen this truck pull and how well it handles it. i got it from a friend, who bought it from another one of our friends dad, so i can pretty much trace mine back to brand new. i didnt think a gear that high would be that easy to get going with such heavy loads behind her. but she does great.

There is a metal tag bolted onto the pumkin bolt. That the one for sure.

How noticeable would it be on the low end if I went from say 3.55's to 3.27's? How noticeable would it be on the high end?
