Rear brake problems
Ok so i have a 1995 f150 (drums) i cant fit my brake drum over my shoes...how do i compress the cylinder? And what do i do with the adjustment screw? Its basically a bolt with a small sprocket so how do i turn it?
Turn it with a screw driver, do yourself a favor and hop on youtube and watch a video on changing these shoes.
Basically you must screw the self adjuster in a ways then slowly unscrew it until you feel resistance on the brake drum, then screw it in just a hair so there is no resistance. Using the plug hole on back side (I believe-could have it backwards so test for yourself) sticking a screwdriver in pointed down and turning the self adjuster up extends it, sticking it in pointed up and moving the adjust screw down retracts it.
