rear brake issues!
I recently purchased a 95 f150 xlt 351 4x4. I just put it in the shop to have the rear brakes replaced, drums shoes and all except wheel cylinders (no leaks under boots)
I noticed that hot brake smell when I got it home. Figured it was just everything getting worked in. Well now when I hit the brakes the rear starts bouncing violently and the truck won't free roll in drive, and takes a lot of gas to get moving.
I climbed under it 3 times this morn and retracted the shoes, almost all the way back. Still no progress!!!!! Could this be a parking brake failure? Its never worked but I tried it when I got the truck back thinking it would be fixed but nope. Its suupppeerrrr tight. I can maybe muscle the pedal in an inch or 2.
I know these year models are "self adjusting" but obviously mine has a problem. Is there a way to disconnect it for troubleshooting? Or is there something I'm missing?!? Thanks for any advice guys!

Sounds like the brakes aren't adjusted properly and whoever did them didn't do a very good job, they should have test drove it first. I'd take it back to have it done again properly.
Did you also replace the hardware? Wonder if they cleaned up the backing plate and brake linkage.

From what I can tell it looks like hardware is new. The pins u push through the backing plate are nice and shiny and I live down a dirt/clay road. The guy said he will look at it and repair for free, but I drove into work and the shop is an hour away down the highway... anything I can do to prevent any damage u think? I can tinker with it at lunch
After a little research in my office (bathroom stall lol) I read some issues about parking brake cables seizing and holding the shoes open causing the shoes to wear to the rivets... well my shoes were wore to the rivets! And my drums were worn wayyyyy past max diameter. So can I disconnect the cable? Or just cut the darn thing...
Bump. Id like to have something figured out b4 the ride home!
I did get under the truck and pull on the bracket where the cable splits to the rear wheels. I can pull slack from the cab, but the 2 cables don't draw back into the drums... can not pull the other direction tho... this leads me to think its the 2 rear cables that are seized
