Default Re-Gear

Hows it goin guys. Recently found out ill be moving to Texas here soon, from Florida. Ive been wanting to regear my truck but just havnt done it yet, but now before I drive this thing to Texas I want to get it taken care of, to make the drive as comfortable and easy on the truck as I can..

Specs of truck are 1995 F150 - 5.0 - Automatic on 37in Tires. Gears are stock right now so they should be 3.31s..

Recommendations?

My 95 with a 5.8 has 3.55 LS gears. It might just be because ive got a tow package though. I wouldnt go super high though. Maybe 4.30's fkr decent mileage.

didn't know 4.30's were made for our 8.8 axle. I thought it went 4.10, 4.56, 4.88...

37" tires and 3.31 stock rear WHYYYY???

first i've never heard of anyone that makes a 3.31 gear, but you never know

4.30 would be the ideal gear but they dont make it for the 8.8 i looked lol

i would go with the 4.56 gears you'll lose top end speed but you'll put less of a strain on the drive train.

that or pick up some used factory rims with smaller tires on them and throw the 37's in the bed for the trip.

I agree. Find some cheapo wheels and tires. Whenever i upgrade and lift my truck and get my 36's im keeping my 33's and stock rims in the garage in case i have to make a long trip.
