how bad of an idea would it be to run spacers on the front axle with 35's? i'm running 3.55 Non LS. and i've recently considered going to 3.73's. would it be worth an axle swap?

Not a bad idea as long as there good quality spacers. And just like anything else they require maintenance. You should remove your wheel periodically to check if there tight.
If you have 35s like me the very minimum I would go is 4.10s.

i do alot of highway driving. like the majority of my miles are highway and was thinking 3.73's would be a nice middle ground.

Well 3.73s and 35" tires aren't even going to get you back to stock.

What kind of mileage do you get? I'm trying to decide on 4.56 or a 4.88 for my 47's
