After much searching and back ordered parts I finally got my dipstick tube. I drained the torque converter and pan of all the fluid and replaced the filter and pan gasket. No leaks and fresh fluid.

You have to drill the hole in the case a little larger and the tube in shorter than stick but since you can buy a stock replacement I will deal. I also replaced the o2 sensor so it runs a lot better.

Well I got the truck running and have been driving it for a week for so. First issue, solved but could have been very speedy, I went through and check and changed all the fluids. Except one the tcase. Went driving sunday and the truck had a weird grinding/slapping noise. Checked it out Monday and gave up. Then today I drove it and made it a few miles and then high tailed it to the shop parked it for the day and drove off P!$$3D. Dad drove it and thought that the chain was slapping inside the case. But then it hit me, check the fluid nothing, surprised it made it for a week until this surfaced. Needless to say I got the case filled and drives great. I ran two tanks through it and its getting about 15/16 mpg's I like that. I have found another potential issue arise, when I changed the timing chain and the cover gaskets. I am getting a little antifreeze seeping out of the top of the timing cover, I don't know if the fel-pro gaskets failed or I didn't get the cover cleaned enough. Needless to say I am hopping that it will seal up or I have to rip the front of the engine apart to repair it. I read that the OEM covers have issues with resealing. This is driving me crazy. I am sweet talking mama to buy me some window motors for Christmas. I have been pondering on what color to paint the truck, like the the two tone and I have seen a few that are the same colors but opposit, and I like that. Or maybe a dark blue or silver. I really like black and I had an 85 that was black in high school but I don't think that the trim down the side won't work with black. Also the street tires I have on it suck in extreme wet or ice. I have to get some used all terrains from work. Lastly I am looking into some interior updated. Like a vinyl floor instead of carpet and some paint for the door panels and dash plastic. And then I have to get a chunk of foam to fix where the PO had eating the drivers seat out in the ***** area. Also I did a oil change when I installed the engine, I went with 5w30 but it has a slight tick until the oil pressure comes up I think I need to run 10w30, any thoughts? Lol! That's it for now.

tsoptich, did you put the springs in yourself. i know you have to adjust the clamber. but can you walk me what you went threw to put the springs in. also some of the tools you used. ive been wanting to do level out my pickup i just wasnt sure i had the tools to do it. also i love the look of push bars, light bars, whatever people call them these days. some folks call them damage multiplyers. but when your out in the brush it protects your grill and headlights from crap. plus it gives you a place to throw some lights on too

Jay: I did put the springs in myself. As far as tools nothing fancy is needed. All you have to do is lif one side with a jack and throw a jack stand under it, and remove the tire/wheel. Keep the jack lifted and then there is a little jay hook on the top of the spring with like a 12mm bolt remove that. Followed by the bottom shock nut and bolt, I think it is a 3/4 or 19mm something like that, remove that. Then I lowered the ttb arm down while the truck was suported by that stand, till the spring came out of the upper perch. I lucked out cause dad has an air gun and a long extension to slip inside the spring to remove the but that hold the bottom of the spring in. Which was, I think, and 1 1/8" then the spring slides out and you reverse it to install. I found that I had to leave the bottom spring bolt loose so i could manuver it in to place at the top then install the J hook and tighten the 1 1/8" nut with a wrench. These spring lifted the front end so much that I have to get chamber bushing to do the alignment. It has been a few weeks now since I did it and the springs settled enough now that I wont need such radical bushings. But I got the adjustable moog type so I can change it if and when I want to lift it. You will also have to adjust the toe it will be off a little bit. Unless you do alignments you will have to take it to a shop. I lucked out cause I do them at work. But thats about it. It took me about 45 minutes to do both sides. But I have done a bunch of that kind of work. Should take about 2 hours if you take your time and watch what your doing. CAUTION: becareful and stand infront of your rig when letting the jack down, incase the spring comes shooting out it wont hurt you.

94FordI6 and Junior: I found my brush guard it looks like yours its chrome, so I am going to remove that cause its peeling and paint it black. I will wire wheel it then throw it in the blast cabinet and then paint it. I looked last night at some billet grills and I think that I am going to get one. I dont know though. I want one not so much for the protection but for some light mounting. I have to measure but I hope it will fit infront of the teeth things on the front bumper.

I drove the truck for bit today and I think that I have to rebuild or replace the steering gear box. It has some play in it that is to much for DD. I did add a steering stabilizer which helped a bunch but the rest of the play is in the box. Other than that I want to replace to speakers and add a CD player with a iPod dock. While the door panels are off waiting for the window motors. Oh as far as the tcase I put some fulid in it last night and the noise went away except it has a little tick every now and then while on the free way. I am going to pull it apart when I get a long weekend and do a rebuild. But since I am starting back at work tomorrow after my surgery I am going to have to baby it for now, or blow it up which ever it will get fix or replaced soon.
