Hey guys, I noticed the other day that every so often I will feel my truck "sputter" (I hope I'm spelling it right) as if I was running out of gas. My guess is it is the fuel pump but wanted to get some opinions before I bring it to a shop. I recently put in some STP fuel injector cleaner gas additive but I don't think this would do anything.

Could you please include the year, engine size, and type of tranny. The more info the better. I'm currently trying to fix my random sputter.

 

Sure, it's a 1992 F150 Automatic with the 4.9 I6

 

May be time for a good ole tune up. Also check your timing. If too low will sputter in the 1200-2000 rpm range.

 

Ya I think I'm going to do that, my check engine light has been coming on randomly too in about 8 second bursts while driving.

 

Pull the codes and tell us what the computer says I might not be able to held but there is ones on here who can.
