Default Radius arm rivets!!!

Ok.......Why the **** dod Ford put rivets on the radius arm bracket??? What the ****.

Now...I need help bad. How do you recommend I get these off? I broke a drill bit and the angles prevent me from even thinking of using a drill. I got a 3.5" cutting wheel that's too big to get in there and my compressor doesn't run it for more than a minute because its 1 gallon. What compressor do you recommend to run a tool like that and how the hell am I going to get these off??? Truck is now apart in my driveway and I can't drive it till this is fixed. ANYONE done this and how??????

By the way....**** you Ford for doing this.

I did both sides on my '94 . It's really not a bad job. I used a 4" grinder with a cut off wheel to grind the heads of the rivets off. Then a two pound hammer and a punch to drive them out. A mechanic I know who has done several of these uses an air chisel to get the heads of the rivets off, then a punch in the air chisel to pop them out. Either way, it's not hard. I know I had about an hour on each side, changed the brackets and bushings.

Honestly I found that using a cutting torch worked best. Had a friend with a torch help me out then used a come-along to re-align everything and bolt it back together.

Sorry for the crappy pic but you get the idea

If you have air use a power hammer with a chisel tip.
