Post radio questions

i was gonna remove my radio today. my manual said put the special tool into those 4 holes in the faceplate. well i made my own tool out of a coat hanger. stuck it in there. they go in they grip fairly well but i can't seem to pull the radio out. what am i doing wrong?

Remove the glove box and reach your hand up behind the stereo and try pushing it out. Worked for me.

Make sure the coat hangers are pushed in far enough to disengage the clips.. if one isnt completly disengaged it will hang up

my old radio doesnt really work. i turn it on then the display light goes on but it doesnt do nothin. no sound no display(besides the light) nothing. im replacing it with aftermarket. how do i go about taking off the glove box the fastest way?

Open the glove box. On the sides are tabs that keep it from falling out when open. Push the sides in so the tabs will clear the opening and let the box rotate another 35 to 40 degrees or so. Lift the bottom of the box off the part of the dash it hooks onto (the bottom of the glove box has "u shaped hooks"). No pictures right now, too dark out.
