Quick question about replacing a UV - J
I replaced all the ones on my two drive shafts, easy as pie since they have a C-Clip, but what about the two front shaft ones, this is on my IFS F 150 4x4, `1994.
They seem to be pressed in from what I can see, and one is starting to go and I rather fix it now then have it break and do some serious damage up front.
Also the two INNER seals, the rubber has worked its way out, I am NOT leaking any grease at all,( yes they are still packed with grease, I looked ) it is rust dry, lol. But I would obvioulsy replace them anyway, I am guessing these are just like your main oil seals on a motor?
Last but not least how big of a job is this, do I have to actually pull from what I can tell the ball joints to get the shaft out to get a shop to press them in as I doubt I will get them out after all these years or is it just easier to get a shop to do it and save myself the headache.
Thanks guys
PS this is the short shaft on the drivers side.
