Default quick question

So i recently purchased a 1989 f150 with a straight 6 and a 5 speed manual tranny......the rear gas tank had a whole in it and was halfway filled with old gas....and the main tank had old gas and sludge on the sending unit...i know i will be replacing both sending units but the front tank is there anything i can do to clean it out and use it again theirs no damage to it. I already got a used rear tank for $14 that basically brand new. I heard using a power washer with a little simple green, or baking soda and vinegar but was wondering if anyone has had to deal with this or just replaced the tank .

If it's really bad I would just replace it. Did you see any good deals for a front tank?

The tank plate with the tubes coming through must match (or BE) the original so that the original (-style) fuel pump can be mounted.

OR... You'd have to swap BOTH tank plates & all the fuel lines to the '90-91 FDM (high-pressure) style.
