what is the difference between a 94 f150 xl & xlt?

xl base model, almost no options, crank windows, almost power nothing.

xlt premium model, more options, power windows, mirrors, sometimes seats etc.

Options. Power windows locks. Carpet/rubber floors. Sometimes the door panels don't have the side pockets.

Idk but I got that XL and not the XLT and gosh damn I wish I had power windows and locks so I don't have to reach across my bench to talk to girls

I believe they only had F150 custom in 92. Maybe before XL and XLT and the options you added from the factory made it custom lol, but I'm not positive on that.

a custom was only done in like 92 for our trucks like sylver91 said. but in the old days it was a fancy way of saying XL. i got a 75 f100 custom and its base everything lol.
