Default Quick differential question

I was about 200k miles over due on changing the differential fluid. I changed it today. I thought my truck was pretty level, sloping driveway but on ramps, but I put in more fluid then what capacity said (5.5 pints for an 8.8 rear). I probably have 9 pints. Does this really matter? Also I could not find torque specs for the cover bolts. I did them at 25 ftpds. There is a gasket and RTV on the cover side. Will that work?

Thanks for your help.

I get little less than 3 qts in mine. If gasket doesn't leak should be fine. Just get it on a level surface and open the fill, when hot, it will find the right level if it's overfilled.
