Default Push button start

Hey guys. I just picked up an 89 F150 5 Spd I6 for 700$. No rust, clean title, 100k miles. I've been having to bump start it because the guy says the steering column and the ignition is broke. I've read about the little acuator arm breaking, but I just want to make it push start. Where you have to turn the key, then run the starter with the button. Can you guys give me some advice on how to wire this up so I'm not melting wires? Thanks. And no, I don't want to deal with the column or the ignition. I've had enough with these haha

Get a test light an find the key run position power wire. Tap into it and run to one side of the push button switch. From the other side of the switch run a wire to the proper leg of the started solenoid on the fenderwell. On that solenoid post remove the connector thats already on there and tape it uo to make sure it doesnt ground itself anywhere. That the easiest way to do it that shouldnt cause any releasing of the smoke.

And as long as you keep the key in the normal position the column should work like normal.

All you have to do is run a wire from the positive of the solenoid on your firewall to one side of the switch and another wire from the positive of your battery to the other side of the switch. Don't forget a fuse. Mines been like this for 5 years lol
