Default problem with gas mileage

I have a 1987 f150 with a 4.9 6 cylinder which I thought was suppose to get 18 to 20 mpg. I filles the truck up with 60 bucks worth of gas and only made it 95 miles on that tank of gas. The truck sat for a year or so due to a bad fuel pump but we replaced it as well as the filter. I checked under neath for maybe a gas leak some where but found nothing. Can anyone suggest or might no what it might be?

I was just going to say, I used to have an I6, and 10ish was about normal. Congratulations, you own a 24 year old full size truck.

Its an 18 gallon tank though and I only went 95 miles. I think it avg out to be about 5.3 miles per gallon I would be happy with 14 mpg lol. Right now it is gett les mpg than my 500 hp mustang.

Tune up and Lucas fuel treatment. Bet the intake looks like a used furniture store with all the varnish. Then seafoam it.
