Power windows/locks
I know this may seem stupid and an unnecessary fix, but its been bugging me for some time.
my 90 f150 has power windows and locks but I cannot put the passenger side window down from the drivers side switch. Also the power locks just don't do anything at all... (no clicking, or any noises)
anybody know how to fix this? Thanks guys!

My 1991 2WD, Long Bed, 5.8, E40D, (208K) was gradually having more and more issues with both the power locks and windows. The driver;s side power lock finally seized in the unlocked position. I broke down and replaced everything two new door lock actuators; two new window motors and both window regulators. Got everything from rock auto for around $200.00. I probably could have retained the regulators but I didn't want to tear it all apart and discover I needed something.
For the door locks - probably need to replace the actuators - I went with the Dorman Units.

As for the windows - If it really works fine from Passenger side and not from drivers - could be wiring or switch??
FWIW - I opted for the seperate componenents Delco Motors and Regulators, not the assemblies. The seperate units use the large motors like the OEM. The Dorman and Delco assemblies use the smaller motors...

Start simple. For the locks check the fuses. Then get in there with your wiring diagram and multimeter. The switches are most prone to failure. Check for voltage to the switch then to the actuators when the switches are pressed. Its a pretty simple circuit. If you get power and ground its the actuator. You can test it with a jump wire.
not to hijack the thread but can we bring this back up..lol..i just got another f150 96' and my passenger side switches don't work..they dont lock or unlock the doors and it wont raise the window...now the driver side switch works only the windows but the one to lock and unlock the doors does it only when it wants to..there is an after market alarm on the truck that opens and closes my doors like they should so i dont think its the actuators...any ideas thanks
you all need to pull your switches and see if they are still in good condition. Most the wires were yanked out of the switches on mine.
I also had a door panel light falling apart & grounding out, causing weird issues.
