Default porting and polishing

I've been doing some research on this topic but I haven't found a lot about it for these trucks. Has anyone port or gasket matched their heads and intake? How did you do it and what are the benefits from doing this performance wise? Is it worth the effort? I'd like to attempt this sometime.

Basically port matching is : you put your gasket in place on the intake and you'll see that there's areas where the metal is still showing, the hole in the gasket is bigger in some places than the hole in the metal so you mark the excess metal and grind it out carefully with a die grinder until the intake matches the gasket. Then you do the same thing with the heads.
This lets the air flow through nice and clean without any obstructions to make it flow weird. And of course the ports are now as big as they can be for more airflow.
Not really a huge concern for a daily driver - it's more of a race thing.
Polishing is where you clean up all the little bumps and roughness in the head ports and intake runners that could disturb maximum air flow. Again, a race thing.
Thing about all those little rough spots is that they help the fuel vaporize so without them you can have a little trouble starting and running when it's really cold (not a race issue).
It's a lot of tedious work but if you enjoy it, you'll get a little extra performance for your trouble.

You could also have the entire intake extrude honed. Worth it on a daily driver? Not really worth it unless you're daily driving a pretty modified vehicle.

Thanks guys, I might do it before I put my engine together. If you had to guess, how much performance could you gain from an intake port job? I'd like to match them to the ports on the heads because from what I read they are smaller.
