Default Plugs'n'gaps

So anyone know what the deal is with these iridium plugs? Should I stick with copper? Also I'm not positive cause I have not looked but I know the timing is advanced somewhere between 14-16 OTDC and I have the MSD system so I was wondering what my gap should be?

I read on here some time ago with the timing advanced, they recommend running standard copper plugs gaped to .55 instead of stock .45 even with an ignition upgrade. Hope this helps. I was looking to do an ignition upgrade on mine, How does it run?

Standard copper autolite or motorcraft, .55 gap, those fancy platinum or iridium tripplequad electrode plugs are a waste of money on our engines.

well....couldnt tell you about noticing a difference cause it was already on the truck when I got it but the guy before me wasnt big on reearch he just thought bigger/more $$$ meant better but I seem to understand with timing advanced its good to have the coil/ignition upgraded as well so I guess it was a step that was needed to get peak power from advanced timing...I think

Advance timing, crane e-coil, better module, and if you are up to it, an msd 5600 or msd 5 will increase performance a little. But as far as plugs, standard plugs, or even power tip, which uses a smaller electrode are good, side gapping helps a little also, thats all we use in our race cars.
