Default plug wires causing ping?

1992 f150 5.0

I did a tuneup on my truck i put motor craft plugs summit cap and rotor and ford racing plug wires and it started pinging after that.

Ive changed the cap and rotor to msd could the plug wires cause pinging?

Ive also got 7&8 wires seperated .

Double check that the wires are separated. Also check your timing and spark gap. Make sure all the wires are tight. A spark leak to ground can sometimes sound like a ping.

Also check ( I think its) 2&4 or 2&8 are seperated. Also make sure the Harmonic Balancer has not spun....to do this set at TDC and the key way should be at the 12 O'clock position, this can also cause rough idle.
I am also having this problem after installing MSD cap & rotor and MSD Street Fire coil, Accel 8mm plug wires and Autolite plugs, so I to want to figure this problem out.
Im also guessing a vacuum leak can cause ping from leaning out the air fuel ratio, but am pretty sure that it is timming issues and this is why I bought a new timming light off the Snap-On truck today.

Did ya bump the distributor? Or adjust timing? Or buy a ****tyy tank of fuel? Any of the above could cause it.

Check timing again before replacing wires. If it fires too early, it causes pinging. Wires are also an option, but a very rare one.
