Default Pickup coil testing

Could someone tell me how to test the pickup coil on a 91 or send me a link? Im having a random no start/die issue and have already replaced the ignition module twice. Thank you. Also, if it is bad ill replace the distributor entirely, any recommendations on a quality replacement that isn't too pricey?

The ignition coil primary (low-voltage) side should read between 0.3 and 1.0 ohms.
The secondary (high-voltage) side should read between 8,000 and 11,500 ohms.
The stator / pickup coil module should read between 800 and 975 ohms.

I have found it easier and less frustrating to replace the entire distributor containing a new pickup coil, rather than try to change just the pickup coil in the existing distributor. Reason being - the roll pin comes out easy enough, but I tend to destroy the gear trying to slide it off the shaft - the shaft has got to be perfectly clean and smooth, and even then it's a challenge.

Not up-to-date on known dizzy brands, all I can offer is don't go cheap, or you just won't go at all.

You need an LED test light to test the PIP

Why did you replace the control module twice? Was the first one bad? I just recently had issues with mine. Picked up a new one from Advance Auto and it was bad. Turns out, all three they had in stock were bad. Picked up one from AutoZone and it fired right up. Also, you may already know this but Advance and AutoZone can bench test those duraspark ignition modules.
