PCM wont read
I have a 92 F-150 that I have taken to three different shops to have the codes read. Each shop used a different type of code reader and none of then would interact with the PCM. My problem is the the truck searches for idle and shuts off when coming to a stop. I do have a check engine light. I have changed the IAC and map sensor from another truck that had no running issues, but this has not changed how my truck is running. While driving down the road on high way check engine light goes away and truck runs fine. get ready to stop, light comes on and truck will stall if I don't power brake it. Thought about buying a scanner (cp9015) but if 3 different other scanners wouldn't read the pcm, why should I believe this one would?
Hi, just saw your post. Can I suggest that you read the sticky right above your post on the page by Just Call Me Sean, how to pull trouble codes on O.B.D. 1 ? He walks you right thru the process, it is very helpful. Good luck

If the scanners won't pull the codes than chances are the paperclip trick won't either. Sounds like a bad TPS. I really wish they would make my TPS link a sticky as I am getting tired of searching for it all the time. http://www.f150online.com/forums/lig...ttle-body.html
