P0136 emission code
I have had the same problem. I have a 96 F150 4.9 engine. When my check engine light came on it was read as rear O2 sensor. I replaced and had the codes reset because the light stayed on. Came back on in another month and got the same reading, rear )2 sensor. Replaced again and am still getting it. Might want to go a little farther with this. That's just what is happening with mine though.
on in about 4 miles of driving. It is giving the same code, P0136, that is
was giving before they replace the sensor. I will certainly be taking the
truck back for them to re-do this since they did not get it right.
Old thread, but it saved me a bunch of money - P0136 code. I was ready to replace all the Ox sensors on my Y2K 4.2L since I've got about 110K miles, but I first checked the connector on the downstream bank 1 sensor and there was a bit of corrosion on the pins.
Cleaned with elec cont cleaner, used some dielectric grease, snapped together, cleared the code - so far so good!
Thanks all!
