Default Overheating and rpm's

I have a 94 f150 with the 302, when the engine overheats does it try to compensate by raising idle rpms? I have been having this problem with the rpms staying up after i take my foot off the pedal while driving or idleing but only when its too hot. It will roll at about 30 mph with no help from me, but it only happens when the temp guage reads over half or higher. I had a clogged radiator and am waiting for the new one, i hope i can cure both problems. Thanx

Yep. Temp related. If you've been overheating, replace the thermostat too.
