Default Overheating Problem?

When I bought my truck the temp gauge did not work so I replaced it. Drove it for awhile and the gauge read on the "L" of Normal it started having the symptoms of a head gasket. (White Exhaust sweet smelling). I changed the head gasket. I also replaced the upper and lower Radiator hoses and the thermostat from the Ford dealer. Now it goes past the L but not into the red H zone. When I was driving today the Engine light came on so I pulled off the road and let it cool down. I haven't driven it anymore except home. I noticed that the top Radiator hose to was blazing Hot but the lower one was just Warm and When I turned the truck off I can hear a dripping noise in the engine bay somewhere (It wasn't dripping on-the ground. What is my problem? Any help would be much appreciated.
