Default Overheating problem...

Truck overheated before but once I replaced the fan clutch it was fine. I keep coolant and water at regular levels and check frequently. I just now place some bigger tires on and now what happens is this: I will crank up the truck and give it some time to warm up from cold crank. As I drive the temperature hand rises up to above normal, almost all the way. All of this happens before the truck is warmed up in my opinion. The temperature hand drops all the way back down to normal if not below once I get about 5-10 miles down the road. Possibly a thermostat problem I know, but seeing if it could be anything related to the tires.

Sounds like the thermostat. Also check your temp sender and your fan clutch.

I would look towards the temp sensor/sender as it sounds like it is giving a higher reading than what the actual temp is, then once the thermostat opens it's reading drops yet is still probably higher than the actual temp.

I don't know if there is a way to check your water pump but that is how mine acted before I blew a hole in my radiator because my water pump gave out.
