Default Overheating Problem

hey guys I bought a 1995 5.0 this week that has been sitting in a garage for over 2 years so i decided to flush the radiator out after changing the oil. well since I did this the truck is wanting to overheat, either that or the gauge just goes high? I usually turn it off when the needle hits the A on normal. Is this normal or do I need to look into it further?
