I don't know how hard it is to pull your water pump, but when my 4.9 went out, most off the fins on the pump were broken off and a little of it remained. It was still pushing water, but not enough. Also I had some Bars head gasket seal in mine and when I put a 195 thermostat back in it was pushing out water. I got a flush kit, flushed it until the water ran clean for 10 minutes, refilled, and haven't had that problem since.

well I didn't mean for you to swap in a e-fan haha just had to replace the fan clutch but sense that didn't solve your problem im hoping your radiator is just clogged up man

Well guess what it was the clutch fan i just took the electric fan off and got a new clutch fan and the truck never went above the o on normal. The bad news is when i was taking the probe out of the radiator i was using a screwdriver to move the zip tie for the probe and slipped and just cracked the radiator a little bit!!!!! Might as well get a radiator as bitter sweet as this is I'm just so happy it's running correctly. Thank You to all that have taken the time to post and Thank God for such a great place as this forum we can all discuss our trucks!!! I've had my truck 9 yrs now and hope i have it a long time to come...

Just got done with the 2 1/4 inch radiator install and now runs even cooler doesn't even get above the bracket and i just drove all over for about half hr Whoooohoooo

Just for future reference - Check your Clutch Fan by turning the fan by hand (engine off, of course.) If it spins ridiculously free, then it's bad. It should have just enough resistance to it.

my way to check it is have some one turn your truck off for you while your watching the fan and if it keeps spinning after you turn it off then its bad and im glad that fixed it man!!
